The Site of the Longcheng City of the Three Yan States is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

The Site of the Longcheng City of the Three Yan States is located in Shuangta District, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province. Its location overlaps with the current urban area, lying buried beneath the city. The only exposed relic is the “Southern Gate of the Longcheng Palace City.”

In 2003, the Chaoyang Municipal Government conducted demolition and renovation in the old city area, particularly around Beida Street. The Liaoning Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology cooperated with the renovation project by carrying out archaeological surveys and excavations. From July 2003 to December 2004, a total of 11 sites were excavated, covering an area of over 10,000 square meters. This uncovered multiple important relics from the Sixteen Kingdoms period to the Qing Dynasty, including a large number of significant artifacts such as a pottery jar with an inscription dating to the Northern Yan period. Among these, the excavation at Site No. 3 — the Southern Gate of the Longcheng Palace City of the Three Yan States — was the most significant achievement of this archaeological effort, lifting the veil of mystery on the Site of the Longcheng City of the Three Yan States.

In 2004, the site was selected as one of the Top Ten Archaeological Discoveries of China for that year.

In October 2019, the Site of the Longcheng City of the Three Yan States was included in the eighth batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units, listed as Ancient Ruins No. 20, with the designation number 8-0020-1-020.
