New Taipei City’s Pingshan is well known for its tea. During holidays, you can visit this tea town to sip lightly fragrant and mellow tea, savor delicious tea meals, and relax amidst the beautiful scenery of rolling green hills and mountains. Starting in June, you can also take part in the “New Taipei Good Tea” event. On June 8 and 9, there will be exciting cultural and artistic performances at the Pingshan Tea Industry Museum. On June 15 and 16, enjoy nature observation and experience activities—“Streamside Fun & Pottery”—and a cross-country running challenge. On June 22 and 23, there will be free tea mountain eco-experience and wildlife observation activities. On June 29 and 30, the “New Taipei Good Tea Series Events in Sanxia” will take place, highlighting Biluochun green tea and Honey Aroma Black Tea paired with green bamboo shoots as the promotional focus. It also recommends “Spring Tea Mini-Trips” self-guided tours in Pingshan, Pingxi, Sanxia, Linkou, and Shiding, featuring a total of 12 routes. These allow you to personally visit tea plantations for tea-picking and tea-making experiences, go on tea garden hikes, taste tea, and enjoy light travel.

Starting June 8, New Taipei City holds the “New Taipei Good Tea – Real Skills, Good Tea” event every Saturday and Sunday on Pingshan Old Street. It brings together quality teas from various districts in New Taipei, including the famous Wenshan Baozhong Tea, Shimen Tieguanyin, Linkou Longshou Tea, Shiding Oriental Beauty Tea, as well as Sanxia’s Biluochun and Honey Aroma Black Tea, showcasing the region’s unique advantage in producing a variety of teas. Based on the different characteristics of the teas, aside from brewing them for drinking, various other applications have been developed. This time, New Taipei has used the premium Wenshan Baozhong Tea to exclusively launch the “Baozhong Card,” which sounds like “guaranteed success” (bao zhong).Visitors can not only drink Wenshan Baozhong Tea but also make use of it. By purchasing tea at the Good Tea Exhibition Sale next to the Pingshan Tea Museum during the event period, you can receive one. With the rich aroma of Baozhong Tea and the blessing of the Pingshan Tea Goddess Mazu, may everything go your way. Additionally, there are free DIY experience activities every weekend on Pingshan Old Street. Just by joining the New Taipei Good Tea event, you can sample the most diverse, freshest, and most locally distinctive New Taipei teas all in one go.

In the recommended spring tea mini-trip self-guided itineraries, Pingshan allows you to start from the Pingshan District Tourism Service Center, then proceed in order to the Aquatic Footbridge, Yudaiyu Fish Viewing Bicycle Trail (for walking), Tea Soap DIY, Pingshan Tea Museum, and Pingshan Old Street. Both Pingxi and Sanxia focus on tea garden picking and tea-making experiences, and each also suggests activities such as painting sky lanterns and exploring the old streets. The Linkou area emphasizes an in-depth tea region tour, starting with an explanation of tea-making essentials and hands-on operations. The full experience includes withering, rolling, initial drying, breaking up clumps, cloth-ball rolling, re-drying, and stem removal, allowing visitors to deeply understand the tea-making process in just one day. Shiding combines attractions such as the Blue-Green Ancient Trail, Shiding Old Street, Blue-Green Art Museum, Feitsui Reservoir, Shiding Erge Mountain Nature Center, and Emperor Cliff, designing five self-guided routes for the public to choose and experience according to their preferences.
