New Landmark in Osaka Tourism: The Twin-Tower FESTIVAL CITY Opens

Nakanoshima in northern Osaka, an economic, cultural, and commercial hub of the city, saw the completion of the Nakanoshima Festival Tower, a 200-meter-high commercial building, in November 2011. It houses shops, restaurants, and commercial facilities, and with its high-level seismic resistance and other performance features, has become a key landmark of Osaka. Then, on April 17, 2017, the newly constructed Nakanoshima Festival Tower West opened as part of the twin-tower complex now collectively named FESTIVAL CITY. The B1 to 2nd floor of the West Tower, featuring restaurants and shops, opened ahead of schedule, while Conrad Osaka, the top-tier brand under the renowned American hotel chain Hilton, is set to open in June. The Nakanoshima Kisen Art Museum is also scheduled to open next spring. Nakanoshima combines tradition, history, economy, and culture, and this continuously evolving new landmark has once again made the area a focal point of international attention.
