First-ever twin towers and one tree light show at Happy Christmas Town—must-see highlights on the K Bridge

Taiwan’s most anticipated winter festival, “New Taipei Happy Christmas Town,” joyfully kicks off on November 15 this year. Themed “Christmas Magic Town,” it will run until January 1, 2020, for a total of 48 days.

Last year, “New Taipei Happy Christmas Town” was ranked No. 1 on the global list of top Christmas travel destinations by Japan’s Hankyu Travel International. This year, it connects the main Christmas tree light installation in Civic Plaza and the light projection on the wall of the New Taipei City Hall building with a laser light show on the south exterior wall of Banqiao Railway Station, creating a “twin towers and one tree, globally unique” audiovisual experience that offers a 360-degree multi-layered laser light show.

A light projection technology team from Singapore, collaborating with Taiwanese creative content, will “project” Santa Bear and the Square Head Bear family casting spells onto the exterior wall of the New Taipei City Hall building, kicking off an exciting magical adventure. This year also sees the outdoor light projection area expanded for the first time. Together with New Taipei’s iconic Christmas tree, the total display area for the main light show reaches 8,800 square meters. Coupled with beautiful surrounding light decorations, the Christmas Castle-themed market, and two free amusement rides—the Sweet Coffee Cup and the Lavender Wooden Horse.

In addition, a series of rich activities such as the family-favorite cartoon star celebration “Fun Carnival” and the annual “Superstar Christmas Concert” that attracts hundreds of thousands of attendees will deliver even more excitement and continuous joy.

This year, “New Taipei Happy Christmas Town” pioneers the “Twin Towers and One Tree” laser light show, combining the Banqiao Railway Station building and the New Taipei City Hall building, known as the “Taiwan Twin Towers,” together with the large Christmas tree in the plaza. The installation is illuminated by 12 sets of lasers shining across New Taipei City.
