Introduction:

Located at No. 2, Youzheng Road, Donghu District. The Nanchang Post Office Building was originally named the "Nanchang Transportation Building" upon construction and is now called the Post Office Building.

The Post Office Building was constructed between February 1935 and 1936. It was designed and supervised by Shanghai Jianming Architectural Firm and built by Shanghai Xinhen Construction Company. The two-story building features a horseshoe-shaped layout and covers an area of approximately 7,946.47 square meters. At the time, it was one of Nanchang’s three iconic buildings, alongside the Jiangxi Grand Hotel and the Provincial Library (former site of the "Nanchang Field Headquarters").

After the building was officially put into use on October 10, 1936, the Jiangxi Provincial Postal Administration and the Jiangxi Provincial Telecommunications Administration moved in. In 1951, the building was jointly used by the Jiangxi Provincial Posts and Telecommunications Administration and the Nanchang Municipal Posts and Telecommunications Administration. In 1958, the provincial office relocated, and the building was used solely by the Nanchang Municipal Posts and Telecommunications Bureau. In December 1969, following the separation of postal and telecommunications services, the building became the office and production facility of the Nanchang Municipal Postal Bureau and was officially named the "Post Office Building."
