Enjoy cherry blossoms at night too! Top nighttime cherry blossom viewing spots in Taipei

Cherries can be admired for their beauty during the day, but the illuminated night cherry blossoms are equally captivating. Lohas Park in Neihu District is a famous spot for cherry blossom viewing in Taipei, with a 3-kilometer-long cherry blossom trail. Last year, the Public Works Bureau installed 32 street lamps along the path, creating a new popular spot for night cherry blossom viewing. This year's Lohas Night Cherry Blossom Season will also begin on February 3.

Located by Donghu Neigou Creek, Lohas Park begins at Kang Le Street and features a 3-kilometer cherry blossom-lined trail along the creek, earning Neigou Creek the title of the most beautiful cherry blossom river in Taipei. The park is home to many varieties of cherry trees. Around the Lunar New Year each year, hundreds of Kanhi cherry trees in the upper section of the first area of the park bloom first, gradually shifting from pale pink to deep pink and crimson—delicate, soft, and incredibly beautiful.

Later, varieties such as Somei Yoshino, Yaezakura, and Umineko cherry trees also bloom in succession, adding endless romance to the Donghu cherry grove. After enjoying the blossoms at Lohas Park, visitors can stroll along the brick-paved trail by the creek to admire other varieties such as Showa cherry, Yoshino cherry, Formosa cherry, and Kawazu cherry, and visit the Neigou Creek Ecological Exhibition Hall to learn about the creek’s story and ecosystem.
