A Half-Day Taipei MRT Mini-Trip: Cherry Blossom Viewing & Strawberry Picking

No need to drive far to enjoy cherry blossoms—just hop on the MRT to easily reach a “cherry blossom hidden gem”! Located near MRT Donghu Station, Neihu District’s Lohas Park is about a 10-minute walk from the station; additionally, every year from December to April is also the “Neihu Strawberry Season.” Exit from Exit 1 of MRT Neihu Station, walk to No. 452, Section 2, Neihu Road, in front of the Jiantou Fude Temple, then transfer to the Xiaolin Bus No. 2 to Bishan Road to reach the strawberry farms in the Baishihu area. Recently, the cherry blossoms in Lohas Park have been blooming one after another, and strawberries have also entered the harvest season. Be sure to take the opportunity to ride the Wenhu Line of the MRT for a pink-hued “cherry blossom and strawberry picking trip.”

“Lohas Park” was originally a bus terminal, later renovated into a park green space. It is located at the intersection of Donghu Road and Kangle Street, opposite Donghu Post Office, adjacent to the Neigou Creek. You can take the MRT to Donghu Station, exit via Kangning Road Section 3, turn right onto Donghu Road, and walk about 5 to 10 minutes to get there. The park also has attached children’s play facilities, making it a great spot for family outings. In addition to cherry blossoms in Lohas Park, walking further up the middle and upper reaches of Neigou Creek beyond the park, there are nearly 10 varieties of cherry blossoms. According to on-site signs, varieties include Botan Zakura, Yae Zakura, Showa Zakura, Yoshino Zakura, and Matsuyama Zakura, each with different flowering periods. Visitors can enjoy them from January through April.
