Arum lilies in full bloom！Take a romantic spring stroll along six streamside trails at Zhushan Lake

The 2015 Arum Lily Season launched at Zhushan Lake on March 20. The Taipei City Department of Urban Development specially recommends six streamside trails: the “Dinghu Circular Trail,” “Arum Lily Circular Trail,” “Literary Trail,” “Lake Bottom Circular Trail,” “Zhushan Lake Circular Trail,” and “Taro Love Trail,” offering everyone a romantic journey through seas of white arum lilies. Stroll leisurely along these streamside paths and enjoy the nature’s phytoncides.

To admire vast fields of arum lilies, the majestic scenery of Xiaoyoukeng, egrets, and small terraced fields, head to the Dinghu Circular Trail in the Dinghu area, which loops around the stream. The path is gentle and easy to walk, suitable for all ages, taking about 20 minutes. To see old waterwheels left by early farmers, ecological ponds, and a circular splash play area, visit the Arum Lily Circular Trail in the Xiahu area, also a 20-minute walk. For the sound of babbling streams, rock play, small hills, and terraced mountain faces, go to the Literary Trail in the Shuiwei area, which takes just 10 minutes. To overlook the hillside arum lily terraces from a height, try the Lake Bottom Circular Trail, a 15-minute walk. The longest trail is the Zhushan Lake Circular Trail, entering from Hutian Bridge and connecting Donghu, Dinghu, Shuiwei, and Xiahu into a looped mountain trail and road, taking about 50 minutes—enjoy the picturesque scenery of Zhushan Lake along the way. Additionally, this year’s newly popular highlight is the Taro Love Trail, a roughly 15-minute walk where you can admire arum lilies (March–May), love flowers (April–June), and hydrangeas (May–August) across different seasons, with ever-changing beautiful landscapes offering new surprises each visit.
