The Dreamy Night Cherry Blossom Season Kicks Off at Taipei’s Most Beautiful Cherry Blossom Spot

Cherry blossoms are not only beautiful to admire during the day, but their illuminated nighttime scenery is equally captivating. Lohas Park in Neihu District is a renowned cherry blossom viewing spot in Taipei, featuring a 3-kilometer cherry blossom path. Last year, the Public Works Department installed 32 streetlights along the path, making it a popular new spot for night cherry blossom viewing. This year’s Lohas Night Cherry Blossom Season will also kick off on February 3.

Located by Donghu Neigou Creek, Lohas Park starts from Kang Le Street and features a 3-kilometer cherry blossom path along the creek, earning Neigou Creek the title of Taipei’s most beautiful cherry blossom river. Lohas Park is home to many cherry blossom varieties. Around the Lunar New Year, the first area’s upper section sees hundreds of Kanhi (Kanzan) cherry trees bloom first, gradually turning from pink-white to pink and deep red—delicate and lovely.

Later, varieties such as Somei Yoshino, Fusuma, and Tenjo Yoshino also bloom in succession, adding endless romance to the Donghu cherry blossom forest. After enjoying the blossoms at Lohas Park, visitors can stroll along the brick-paved path along the creek to admire various cherry blossoms, including Showa, Yoshino, Formosa, and Kawazu, and visit the Neigou Creek Ecological Exhibition Hall to learn about the creek’s story and ecosystem.
