Jiangxi Hotel is located at No. 356 Bayi Avenue, Jiangxi Hotel Community, Gongyuan Subdistrict, Donghu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province. It borders Bayi Avenue to the east, Minde Road to the north, Supu Road to the west, and Zhongshan Road to the south. To the northwest are the former residence of Zhu De, Youmin Temple, and the Christian Zhidao Church. To the west is Bayi Park, to the north are the Jiangxi Construction Bank and Hongkelong Supermarket, and to the south are the Jiangxi Maternal and Child Health Hospital and the Department Store Building. Built in 1956, it covers an area of 2,000 square meters. The building faces east and has a steel-concrete frame structure, with the main building consisting of seven floors and the side wings five floors, arranged symmetrically along a north-south axis. The name of the hotel was inscribed by Shao Shiping, the first governor of Jiangxi Province in the People’s Republic of China. It served as one of the main reception venues for the Jiangxi Provincial People’s Government for foreign affairs, trade negotiations, and important conferences. It holds certain significance for the study and understanding of the architectural style of major buildings in the early years of the founding of the People’s Republic in the city.
