Christian Zhidao Church

Christian Zhidao Church is located at No. 112, Minde Road, Zhuangyuanqiao Community, Baihuazhou Subdistrict, Donghu District, Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province, with coordinates of 28°41'02.2"N, 115°53'26.1"E and an elevation of 36 meters. Built in the 22nd year of the Republic of China (1933), it is 17 meters wide and 25 meters deep, covering an area of approximately 368 square meters. Originally part of the Southern Gan Church of the Methodist Church, it was one of the four churches established by the Methodist Church in Nanchang.

It holds certain significance for the study and understanding of the historical heritage of Christianity in Nanchang.

In August 2006, the Nanchang Christian Council raised over 2 million yuan to renovate Zhidao Church to its original appearance (with the entire structure elevated by 2 meters), and it reopened in early November 2007.

Zhidao Church features an overall Western architectural style, with flying eaves and elegant, classic design, topped with red tiles. Situated by the lake on both the front and back sides and adjacent to a park on the right, it enjoys a tranquil landscape and is known as the “Scenic Church.” The entire Zhidao parish covers an area of more than 3,000 square meters. The church building faces south and is situated to the north, with an actual footprint of 368 square meters. It has two floors inside, with a total floor area of about 750 square meters.
