Site of the Shilin Conference

The Site of the Shilin Conference is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

The Site of the Shilin Conference is located in Shilin Village, Shilin Town, Shanshan District, Hebi City.

On June 10, 1947, Liu Bocheng, Commander of the Jin-Ji-Lu-Yu Field Army, and Deng Xiaoping, Political Commissar, held a meeting of various army columns here to discuss the plan for forcefully crossing the Yellow River, advancing into the Central Plains, and making the thousand-li leap into the Dabie Mountains. This marked the beginning of the strategic offensive in the Liberation War and heralded the start of the nationwide liberation of China. In June 2006, it was designated as a Fourth Batch Provincial-Level Cultural Relics Protection Unit by the provincial government. In June 2008, it was listed as a Red Base by Henan Province; in September 2016, it was named a Patriotic Education Demonstration Base of Henan Province by the Provincial Party Committee Propaganda Department. In December of the same year, it was rated as a National Classic Red Tourism Scenic Area by fourteen ministries including the National Development and Reform Commission, the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee, and the Ministry of Finance. In 2017, it was recognized as the Fourth Batch of Henan Provincial Party History Education Bases. In 2018, it was rated as a National AAA-level Tourist Attraction.
