The Hot Spring Festival’s seamless sightseeing bus takes you to hidden hot springs

The Taipei County Tourism Bureau said that the biggest difference in this year’s hot spring festival bus routes compared to previous years is that in the past, buses mainly shuttled tourists from MRT stations to hot spring areas. But tourists were often limited by transportation options and couldn't explore certain regions. Therefore, this year they tried for the first time to move the free shuttle routes into the hot spring areas and tourist spots, using a seamless approach to pick up passengers at bus stops in Wulai, Jinshan, and Wanli, and continue transporting them deeper into hot spring and sightseeing destinations.

From November 13th to December 19th, buses run every Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 AM to 6:30 PM, with departures every half hour in both directions. In Wulai, the starting and ending points are the Xindian Bus Terminal and Neidong Forest Recreation Area, with stops in between including Hot Spring Street Intersection, Xilu’an Road Stadium, Visitor Center Intersection, and Xinxian Black Bridge. The Jinshan-Wanli sightseeing bus route sets its start and end points at “Jinshan Old Street” and Wanli’s “Yehliu Geopark,” with stops such as Bayan, Tianlai, Jiatai Hot Spring Area, and Shitou Mountain along the way. Attractions such as the Xinxian Trail in Wulai and the Neidong Forest Recreation Area are great places to visit.
