The Kaohsiung County Week of the Flower Expo kicks off, with additional reservation tickets being issued

From the opening of the Flower Expo on November 6 to November 22, visitor numbers hit 800,000, with long lines seen daily, and the five pavilions requiring reservation tickets were almost all gone by noon. The Flower Expo Operations Headquarters announced that starting with the “Kaohsiung County” activity week on November 22, the number of pavilion reservation tickets issued after 5 p.m. will be increased to improve visitors’ chances of entering the pavilions.
The Flower Expo has welcomed 800,000 visitors.
Starting from November 22, the number of additional reservation tickets issued per session for pavilions requiring them is as follows: 5 extra tickets per session for the Dream Pavilion, 20 for the Celebrity Pavilion, 40 for the Health Pavilion, 30 for the Truth Pavilion, and 15 for the Story Pavilion. In total, 170 extra tickets are issued for the Dream Pavilion (total now 3,705), 320 for the Celebrity Pavilion (total 2,770), 720 for the Health Pavilion (total 10,800), 270 for the Truth Pavilion (total 7,470), and 150 for the Story Pavilion (total 930).
To accommodate the large number of visitors, the Flower Expo Operations Headquarters has increased the issuance of reservation tickets.
This week marks the activity weeks for Kaohsiung County as well as Taipei City’s Neihu and Songshan districts. Visitors can enjoy a 50% discount on “full-price, student, senior, afternoon, and evening tickets” by showing proof of residency in the respective county/city activity week or Taipei City week when purchasing tickets. The Kaohsiung County Government has also invited traditional puppetry and performing arts groups from the county to perform in Taipei. Nine puppet troupes selected in 2009 for Kaohsiung County’s support program—including Tianhongyuan Glove Puppet Theater, Jinfeifeng Puppet Theater, and Yongxing Le Shadow Puppet Theater—will stage 21 high-quality puppet performances at Flower Dream Plaza in the Xinxing Park area and the plaza in front of the Art Museum in the Art Park area during the activity week.
