As summer vacation draws to a close, why not snag discounted clothes and save on food, fun, and entertainment too? The New Taipei City Government is hosting the “New Taipei City Shopping Carnival” from August 7 to September 26, featuring 500 participating stores of all kinds. By submitting your receipts online, you can also enter to win amazing prizes. Quickly gather your friends and family for a “Summer of Shopping in Northern Taiwan”!

The event has gathered 15 major shopping districts in northern Taiwan, organizing three main activities: “Win Great Prizes,” “Savor Delicious Food,” and “Enjoy Fun Activities.” These cover Tamsui, Jinshan Temple Front, Shenkeng Old Street, Bali Left Bank, Sanxia Minquan Old Street, Pingxi, Ruifang Jiufen, Wulai, Pinglin, Xindian Dapi Tan, Yingge Ceramics Old Street, Luzhou Temple Front, Sanchong Fabric Street, Xinzhuang Temple Street, and Xinzhuang Zhonggang River Corridor. By combining food, culture, crafts, and leisure tourism, the carnival promotes local attractions and ensures the final stretch of summer remains exciting.

On September 11 and 9/12, the “Fun Activities” Carnival will be held at the Fisherman’s Wharf View Deck in Tamsui, featuring performances by the Samba Drum Team, Tamsui Body Voice Theatre, and the Momo Family. Paired with on-site gourmet offerings, there's fun for all ages. During the event, spend a minimum of NT$200 per receipt and submit it online to enter to win prizes such as a 42-inch LCD TV, premium hot spring resort accommodation vouchers, and five-day Bangkok flight tickets. Weekly food voting will also award dining vouchers and surprise gift bags, ensuring you eat well and take home goodies too.
