Wild Stream Tea Banquet, 2010 Shiding Cultural Festival of Taipei County

This year’s Shiding Cultural Festival continues the highly acclaimed Wild Stream Tea Banquet series from last year, providing local artists and community groups with a space and stage to showcase their creativity. It brings together communities, schools, associations, shops, and cultural workers to foster a spirit of heritage and create a high-quality cultural living environment. The “Wild Stream Tea Banquet” features a floating tea house built on the Wutu Stream, presenting the leisurely atmosphere of Western-style afternoon tea in European design, and invites tea masters to set up riverside tea seats and a waterborne tea banquet on the floating tea house.

Additionally, during the event period, porters’ parades are arranged, with participants in retro attire carrying nostalgic shoulder-poles through the streets. The East and West Streets of Shiding host the Tamsui-Lanyang Nostalgic Porters’ Market, selling local Shiding goods and agricultural specialties along the street, taking visitors back to the glorious past of Shiding. On the afternoon of October 24, the renowned group “Ten Drum Art Percussion Group” is invited to deliver a stunning performance on the stream.

Other activities include Shiding gourmet banquets, cycling explorations — a serene journey through Shiding, the Shiding Tea Banquet Themed Pavilion, parent-child DIY experiences, “Experience Shiding, Breathe the Forest” (eco-guided tours), and the “Heroes Conquer the Beauty’s Challenge” stamp-collecting activity. These combine Shiding’s mountain-water scenery, humanities, arts, and tea culture to promote diverse tourism resources.
