Heping Forest Park is a provincial-level forest park located atop the Damaqun Mountain Range, 65 kilometers from Zhangjiakou City and 10 kilometers from Chongli County. It is one of the largest natural forest landscapes in Hebei Province.

Heping Forest Park features continuous mountains and ridges, dense and lush forests. Within the scenic area, peaks and ridges stack upon each other, covered in thick green canopies, where luxuriant grasses and thriving trees vie for vibrancy. Winding paths lead through dramatic landscapes and perilous trails, showcasing grand, rugged, and picturesque scenery. The air among the trees is fresh, fragrant wildflowers bloom quietly, birds chirp in chorus, and springs gurgle melodiously — visiting here feels like stepping into a fairyland. Wild vegetables and mushrooms blanket the hillsides, rabbits and squirrels dart through the bushes, offering a scene of nature’s bounty that fills visitors with delight.

The forest is not only home to towering mountains, lush flowers and trees, and crystal-clear springs, but also boasts spectacular beautiful waterfalls. The silvery-white cascades resemble thousands of soft silver veils fluttering down the cliffs. The fine mist sprayed from the falls is as light as dust, diffusing through the air and transforming into a hazy mist that drapes the surrounding trees like a thin veil. The moment the waterfall crashes into the pool, white spray bursts upward like flying jade and tossing pearls — truly embodying the poetic line, "Its torrent dashes down three thousand feet from high / As if the Silver River fell from the blue sky."

In the mountain-climbing area, Qitai Mountain rises abruptly from the ridge, with steep terrain and deep valleys, offering visitors a fun and adventurous journey through its rugged paths. Climbing the hanging ladder leads to the summit of Qitai, where you can take in the sweeping views of the surrounding mountains. Scenic spots such as Couple Peak and Twin Lions Charging Toward the Mountain are also captivating. The Heping Forest Tourist Area, centered around its lush forests, presents a vibrant landscape with rippling blue waters, blooming flowers, thriving woods, and flowing springs, painting the mountains in a riot of colors.
