On December 17, the “Unveiling Ceremony of the Chongli Public Fitness Ice and Snow Sports Base and the Launch Ceremony of the Fulong Ice and Snow Carnival” was officially held. As a new landmark ski resort in Zhangjiakou, the Fulong Ski Resort actively responds to the call of the General Administration of Sport of China to get “300 million people on the snow,” and is fully committed to promoting the development of ice and snow sports in China.
Wang Biao, member of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Chongli District Party Committee, Zhang Rui, Deputy Director of the Hebei Provincial Winter Olympics Office, Huang Yulong, Director of the Zhangjiakou Municipal Sports Bureau, Wang Tianzhong, Director of the Zhangjiakou Municipal Tourism Development Commission, Zhao Zan, Acting District Chief of Chongli District, Guo Lizhi, Counsellor of the Austrian Embassy in China, and Wang Cheng, Chairman of the Fulong Group, among other leaders, attended the event. Chairman Wang Cheng delivered a welcome speech, expressing gratitude for everyone’s presence. District Chief Zhao Zan offered his sincere congratulations on the unveiling of the Chongli Public Fitness Ice and Snow Sports Base and the launch of the Fulong Ice and Snow Carnival. He said that Chongli has been dedicated to building an internationally renowned ice and snow sports brand, and with the efforts of all parties, the ice and snow industry in Chongli has achieved continuous and rapid development. In the next phase of development, the goal is to create a comprehensive, all-season, all-people, all-element, and all-industry large-scale tourism pattern, promoting ecotourism—led by ice and snow tourism—as a regional industry to drive economic growth. Speeches were also given by Wang Min, Party Committee Secretary of CSCEC Eighth Bureau Beijing Company, and Liu Boyu, President of the Zhangjiakou Ski Association, who expressed their blessings for the event and their hopes for the development of the Fulong Four Seasons Resort Town. After the speeches, a concise yet grand unveiling ceremony took place, creating a very warm atmosphere.It is reported that on the day of the unveiling ceremony, the Fulong Group invited numerous guests and some homeowners of the Fulong Four Seasons Resort Town to join in the activities of the Fulong Ice and Snow Carnival. The carnival featured many exciting and rewarding interactive game segments, creating a warm and fun atmosphere for all attendees.
The Fulong Ski Resort holds a uniquely advantageous geographical position, being zero distance from the urban area and truly offering seamless connectivity. Not only has it invested heavily in the construction of ice and snow sports facilities, with a total of 37 planned ski runs—25 of which were opened in the first phase—including a ratio of beginner, intermediate, and advanced runs at 3:4:3; there are also 9 magic carpets (including 2 enclosed magic carpets), 6 high-speed chairlifts (one of which is a 3.6-kilometer-long “urban aerial tramway” directly connecting the urban area to the resort). The resort covers a snowmaking area of 750,000 square meters and includes a ski hall with a construction area of 45,000 square meters. The maximum vertical drop of the ski runs is 482 meters, and according to international standards, the runs are divided into 7 beginner runs, 11 intermediate runs, 14 mid-to-advanced runs, and 5 advanced runs, meeting the needs of skiers of various levels. Additionally, Fulong Ski Resort is the only ski resort in Zhangjiakou that offers night skiing. Even more appealing is the exceptional combination of skiing and hot springs at Fulong, providing a perfect way to unwind after a day on the slopes.
Moreover, Fulong places great emphasis on public ice and snow sports and children’s skiing development. The resort features a dedicated Children’s Skiing Service Center (FLSKI), which provides six major functions: children’s ski club, children’s winter and summer camps, entertainment and learning, life care, competition events, and ski education certification. The children’s supervision area in the ski teaching zone adopts a unique children’s teaching system, which includes specially designed facilities for children, highly trained children’s ski instructors, and distinctive children’s ski teaching courses, pioneering the field of children’s ski instruction in China.
