On September 22–23, as this summer’s most authentic and coolest forest music festival — the Chongli Cuiyunshan Forest Music Festival (Chongli CUIYUNSHAN Forest Music Festival) — will be held as scheduled in the Cuiyunshan Forest Scenic Area, Chongli District, Zhangjiakou. It is reported that this music festival is jointly organized by Hebei Tourism Investment Group Zhangjiakou Chongli Shanshui Tourism Real Estate Development Co., Ltd. and Zhangjiakou Cultural Tourism Investment Group Co., Ltd., and hosted by the Cuiyunshan Forest Scenic Area. Currently, numerous bands are gathering — see if your favorite one is among them.

The Chongli Cuiyunshan Forest Music Festival will invite numerous well-known domestic bands to perform live, creating the grandest musical carnival event in Chongli this summer. Performing at the concert are top-tier domestic bands such as Gao Qi & Overload, Nan Wu Band, Paradise Band, Guowei VC Band, Si Wu Band, Chuan Zi & Band, Heping Lu Bei, and Wu You Band, who will bring more of the most popular musical elements of this summer. Nothing hits the soul harder than rock — let your soul tremble with the rock, let your body sway freely with the rhythm, and let your mind and body soar with the music!

    Gao Qi & Overload Band

China’s first thrash metal band, since its establishment on Halloween 1991, has always been a representative act among the core forces of Chinese rock music. The guitarist is “China’s No.1 Guitarist” Li Yanliang, the drummer Diao Lei is known in the industry as the most outstanding drummer of the younger generation, and the bassist is Chinese-American Wen Tai. Gao Qi is the band’s lead singer and the creative soul behind the lyrics and music.

    Nan Wu Band

Established in 2007, the band draws nourishment from Chinese cultural roots, seeks diverse expressions in Chinese and Western music, and creates a hybrid regenerated genre rich in Chinese aesthetic charm, youth humor, and a fusion of Eastern and Western elements. This style is called “Nan Wu Literature and Art.” In addition to their unique musical charm, the Nan Wu Band also deeply attracts people of all ages, regions, and fields with their live performance strength, stage impact, costumes, and off-stage affability.

    Paradise Band

A veteran Chinese rock band, established in 1992. To date, they have released seven albums, continuing with a Hard Rock style, often incorporating Beijing-flavored elements, with lyrics focusing on narrative and depth, discussing the lives and real issues of the general public, and creating multiple representative songs such as “The Beginning of Man,” “Brother Zhao,” “Whoever You Are,” and “Lake Water.”

    Guowei VC Band

A representative band of Chinese independent rock and British rock styles. The members consist of lead vocalist Liu Zitao, drummer Yang Lin, bassist Li Xiaoquan, and guitarist Li Xiaochuan. With their uniquely distinctive musical style, commanding live performances, and trendsetting fashion, over the past decade they have continuously broken through and transformed themselves, refining an extraordinary elegant and romantic melody and stage performance style, making them a unique and surrealist exploratory group.

    Si Wu Band

Once hailed by fans as “the strongest voice of Chinese deathcore,” they were also the world’s first band to try a 360-degree VR panoramic MV. Their heavy and fierce music is like an engine roaring in mud, with roaring guitar sounds interwoven with their views and roars about life, emotions, and the world. They excel at emphasizing another kind of joy within sadness, making all seemingly crazy and unrestrained “morbid expressions” seem perfectly normal.

    Chuan Zi & Band

Chuan Zi, hailed as the new generation “people’s livelihood singer,” has gradually entered the public eye in recent years, and his performance with his dog “Dudu” on the stage of China’s Got Talent moved audiences nationwide. Over the years, Chuan Zi has left behind many classic works such as “Fate of This Life,” “Happiness Here,” “Zheng Qian Hua,” and “We Small Retail Investors Have Power,” which he dedicated to stock investors. In 2011, invited by Beijing TV, Chuan Zi performed on the BTV Spring Festival Gala stage.

    Heping Lu Bei

Reformed and back on the road in 2015. Lead vocalist Wang Kai is known for his penetrating voice. Guitarist Yang Jian is a leather-carved harmonica-guitar artist who has collaborated with numerous artists and possesses impeccable stage experience and technical skill. Bassist/PGM Jia Wenkai has performed with Luo Qi on Hunan TV’s second season of “I Am a Singer,” served as bassist/PGM for Xu Weizhou’s Asian tour, and was the bassist/PGM for the Western Music Journey Concert “String Song Chasing Dreams” by the China Nationalities Song and Dance Ensemble.

    Wu You Band

The band has been around for ten years, with most members having participated in major music festivals such as Midi, Zhangbei, Strawberry, Da’ai, and Changyang. Reformed in 2012, the band was officially named “Wu You Band.” With new metal as their main creative style, the music combines the ferocity and distorted tones of heavy metal with hip-hop rapping and melodic vocals. Chasing tranquility in the heat, waiting for light in the darkness, and seeking truth in nothingness — this is the “nothing” and “something” that Wu You Band wants to express.

As an important part of the music festival, nothing moves people’s hearts more than music. This Cuiyunshan Forest Music Festival (Chongli CUIYUNSHAN Forest Music Festival) has invited so many well-known bands to deliver powerful and beautiful sounds. Brilliant lights pierce the sky, audiovisuals transmit dynamism, letting emotions soar with the music, creating the grandest musical carnival event in Chongli. Which band is your favorite?
