On December 6, the press conference for the 18th China Chongli International Ski Festival, hosted by the People’s Government of Chongli District, organized by the Chongli District Sports Bureau and JUDONG (Beijing) Sports Culture Development Co., Ltd., and jointly promoted, was held in Beijing. Leaders from the Beijing 2022 Organizing Committee, the General Administration of Sport of China, Olympic champions, officials from the Dongcheng District Sports Bureau of Beijing, the Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau, the Zhangjiakou Municipal Sports Bureau, as well as leaders from various ski resorts, industry entrepreneurs, representatives from relevant ski associations and groups, well-known figures in the skiing community, and skiing enthusiasts were all present to cheer on the event. The occasion garnered widespread attention from major mainstream media both inside and outside the industry, including Sohu, Global Times, Lvye Outdoor Network, China Sports Daily, Guangming Daily, and Hebei Daily, creating an unprecedentedly lively atmosphere on site.

To actively promote winter sports, this ski festival is themed “Celebrate Folk Traditions with Joy, Embrace Winter Passion for the Olympics,” and carries the slogan “This ski season, you’re either in Chongli or on your way there.” It aims to fully showcase Chongli’s abundant ice and snow tourism resources and rich cultural heritage to the nation and the world, while actively shaping the brand image of “Snowy Chongli, Outdoor Paradise.” Through a variety of exciting events and activities, it invites people from home and abroad to deeply experience the uniqueness of Chongli’s snowy offerings. Amidst great anticipation, the 18th China Chongli International Ski Festival is finally set to begin. On one hand, it integrates Zhangjiakou’s folk traditions into the festival, and on the other, through fun games and vibrant on-site atmospheres, it attracts participants to engage in various winter activities, creating a passionate skiing festival that serves as a prelude to the official start of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

To thoroughly implement the important instructions of President Xi Jinping regarding the preparation of the Winter Olympics, respond to the call for “300 million people to participate in winter sports,” accelerate the popularization and promotion of winter sports, drive the rapid development of the sports and leisure industry centered around winter skiing and summer outdoor activities, and fully establish an internationally renowned destination for winter sports and tourism, the 18th China Chongli International Ski Festival will open a new chapter with more comprehensive forms of activities.

It is reported that the 18th China Chongli International Ski Festival will run from November 30, 2018, to March 9, 2019, with the opening ceremony taking place on December 17. During this period, 125 diverse and interactive events and fun winter activities will be held, including the FIS World Cup, FIS Alpine Skiing Points Race, Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Open Competitions, China Fun Skiing Championship, and China’s Most Beautiful Skiing Family Competition. In addition, many folk events with local characteristics such as temple fairs and traditional performances will also be organized, inviting skiers to actively participate and experience them. The festival will also invite numerous world champions to join in, leading skiing enthusiasts to experience the charm of Chongli’s snowy landscapes. Furthermore, this year’s festival incorporates social welfare into the realm of winter sports, calling on more skiing lovers to pay attention to public welfare and contribute more love.
