Guangshan China Tea Ware Museum

The “Guangshan China Tea Ware Museum” is located by the Zishui Tower on the banks of the Zishui River at the junction of the old and new urban areas of Guangshan County. It is modeled after the Qing Dynasty county government office and Confucian Temple (Kongmiao) of Guangshan. Stretching 210 meters from north to south and 110 meters from east to west, it covers an area of 35 acres and lies in the heart of the county town.

The China Tea Ware Museum was developed out of a love for tea ware and tea culture, as well as a strong sense of dedication, leveraging the region’s rich tea culture resources.

Established in 2004, the museum was formerly known as the Tea Ware Museum under the Guangshan Cultural Relics and Tourism Bureau. Since its opening, the museum has been dedicated to acquiring returned tea ware, sourcing exquisite pieces through various channels, with its collection growing steadily. Here, we present a selection of some of its finest tea ware, offering a glimpse into the splendor and brilliance of ancient tea ware culture. The museum consists of two departments: the Tea Culture Exhibition Hall and the Tea Ceremony Performance Hall.

In 2008, the Guangshan County Culture and Tourism Bureau also formed a 12-member Zishui Qianjin Cultural Performance Troupe. Trainers and instructors were invited from Zhengzhou, Xinyang, and Wuhan to provide guidance, and dozens of performance programs were rehearsed. These performances have left a deep and wonderful impression on visiting tourists, earning widespread praise and becoming a unique new attraction in tea-growing Guangshan. In addition, the Guangshan Tea Ware Museum has been reviewed and meets the recommended criteria for the fourth batch of Henan Provincial Patriotic Education Demonstration Bases.

Zishui Subdistrict: Zishui Subdistrict Office is located in the area east of Xianshan Road in Guangshan County. It borders Shili Town to the north, Xianshan Subdistrict to the west, Guanduhe Industrial Park and Hushan Township across the Xiaohuanghe River to the south, and Buta Town in Huangchuan across the Xiaohuanghe River to the east. The jurisdiction covers an area of 35 square kilometers, including 12 square kilometers of urban area. It governs six neighborhood committees: Haiying Street, Heping Street, Jiefang Street, Yaoweizi Street, Xudian Street, and Wulidun Street, comprising 73 resident groups; and five administrative villages: Mawan, Sanliqiao, Qianlou, Yujie, and Liudian, with 73 villager groups.
