The Lunar New Year holiday has seen many people planning their travel and spring outings. For those who haven’t yet decided on a New Year itinerary, a blessing trip to Foguangshan is a great option. The year 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of Foguangshan’s establishment, coupled with the arrival of the Lunar New Year. This year, under the theme “Fame Resounding Across the Heavens,” Foguangshan will host a month-long Peace Lantern Ceremony from January 28 to February 25. Additionally, for the first time, the long-running fireworks show will feature a spectacular 3D light sculpture display, inviting people across Taiwan to welcome the New Year together.

In addition to the Illuminating the Thousand Worlds 3D Light Sculpture Blessing Show, Foguangshan also holds grand ceremonial events every Lunar New Year. The Buddha Memorial Center presents cultural treasures such as acrobatic performances, Buddhist art, and musicals. These events attract not only devotees but also many members of the public, making it a key Lunar New Year travel destination in southern Taiwan, and even drawing many international visitors to experience its religious ambiance.
