In recent years, the Kaohsiung area has vigorously promoted tourism, boasting numerous scenic spots that attract many domestic and international visitors each year. Among them, the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Center, Cijin Beach, and Pier-2 Art Center rank as the top three most visited attractions. According to statistics from the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau, from January to April this year, the most popular destination among tourists was the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Center, with visitor numbers reaching 5,666,086. The second and third most visited were Cijin Beach (1,688,042 visitors) and Pier-2 Art Center (1,207,056 visitors), respectively.

Topping the list, the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Memorial Center is located in Dashu District, Kaohsiung. Since its opening on December 25 last year, it has drawn large numbers of both domestic and international tourists. As a new religious and cultural attraction, it has become a must-visit landmark for mainland Chinese tourists coming to Kaohsiung, attracting over 2 million visitors in both January and February this year.
Ranked second, Cijin Beach is situated within the coastal park on the western side of Cijin Island. The surrounding area features a natural ecological zone, an off-road area, and a seaside scenic walkway. The park also includes an ocean-view platform extending from the shore into the sea, supported by 15 pillars. Standing on the platform offers a profound experience of the powerful impact of ocean waves. The scenic walkway in the park stretches approximately one kilometer, flanked by a bike path on one side and the Cijin West Coast beach on the other. Whether cycling or strolling along the scenic pathway, visitors can enjoy the poetic beauty of the Cijin Coastal Park.

Pier-2 refers to the No. 2 docking pier, which was originally a large warehouse beside the port. After lying idle for many years, it has in recent years been transformed into an art exhibition space known as Pier-2 Art Center. The center includes the C5 Taiwan Sugar Warehouse, Moonlight Theater, and Art Plaza on Dayong Road, as well as the Pier-2 Warehouse and Tourist Wharf near the West Harbor Line. The exhibitions and performances held here are diverse, ranging from static design exhibitions to rock music events.

According to statistics from the Kaohsiung City Government Tourism Bureau, between January and April this year, the 4th to 10th most visited tourist destinations were the National Science and Technology Museum (1,094,968 visitors), Former British Consulate at Takao (621,097 visitors), Kaohsiung Municipal Cultural Center (512,327 visitors), Chengcing Lake (455,691 visitors), Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts (404,249 visitors), Shoushan Zoo (349,280 visitors), and Lotus Pond (277,000 visitors).
