Organized by the Golden Volunteers of the Gold Ecological Park under the New Taipei City Government’s Department of Cultural Affairs, the “Happy Cultural Walk in the Mine” differs from the previous one-month-long Mine Miscanthus Flower Festival. From June to November, six sessions will be held, with the first session now open for registration. During the walk, participants will not only explore the historical trails of mining sites and learn about the settlement patterns of the once-thriving mountain town, but will also be invited to help with mountain clean-up efforts.

The six sessions are scheduled for June 30 (Sat), July 28 (Sat), August 25 (Sat), September 29 (Sat), October 27 (Sat), and November 24 (Sat). The walking route is as follows: Park Area → Sanmao Residence → Octagonal Pavilion & Copper Processing Plant → Jinquan Temple → Water Ditch Bridge → Jinfu Temple → Guashan Elementary School → International Peace Memorial Park for the End of the War → Quanjidian → Qitang Old Street → Former Miners’ Hospital Site → Park Area. Registration for the first session is now open, while registration for the other sessions opens 45 days before the event date and closes 7 days prior. Each session is limited to 20 participants on a first-come, first-served basis. The participation fee is NT$200 per person (includes one miner’s lunchbox and an experience voucher for Pit No. 5).

Successful registrants should check in at the Gold Ecological Park Visitor Service Center at 9:30 AM on the day of the event, with the walk starting at 10:00 AM. The entire walk and guided tour will take approximately two hours, and participants will receive one “miner’s lunchbox” after the event. Registration is done by phone at 02-2496-2860.
