The year 2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the founding of Buddha’s Light Mountain. Coupled with the arrival of the Lunar New Year, this year the mountain is hosting a month-long Peace Lantern Ceremony under the theme “Fame Resounds to the Heavens,” from January 28 to February 25. It will also, for the first time, incorporate a spectacular 3D light sculpture show into its long-running fireworks display, inviting people across Taiwan to welcome the New Year together.

In addition to the Illuminated Thousand Worlds 3D Light Sculpture Blessing Show, Buddha’s Light Mountain also hosts grand ceremony events every Lunar New Year. The Buddha Memorial Center also presents cultural treasures such as acrobatic performances, Buddhist art, and musical dramas. Not only do devotees participate, but many members of the public join in as well, making it a key Spring travel destination in Southern Taiwan. Even many foreign tourists visit to experience the religious atmosphere.
