Established in September 2010, the China Industrial Design Museum is located in Building 3 of the Shanghai International Industrial Design Center. It is China’s first museum dedicated to industrial design and has been recognized as a national and municipal science education base. The museum aims to collect industrially mass-produced products from various periods since the 1950s, showcasing the past, present, and future of industrial design, as well as collecting related design anecdotes and documents. Currently, it exhibits over 700 products along with memoir manuscripts from veteran designers, presenting the characteristics and development trajectory of Chinese industrial design from multiple perspectives. As a science education base, the China Industrial Design Museum now receives thousands of visitors each month.
