Introduction The "Famous Temple of Jianghuai," Guangxiao Lü Temple, was first built during the Yixi era of the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Originally named Wanshou Temple, it was later renamed "Baoying Guangxiao Temple" by Emperor Gaozong of the Southern Song Dynasty, Zhao Gou, who ordered the temple to hold a Buddhist service to pray for the souls of Emperors Huizong and Qinzong. During the Qianlong era of the Qing Dynasty, it was renamed again as "Baoying Guangxiao Lü Temple." The temple is grand in scale and majestic in presence.
