Yang Gensi Martyrs' Cemetery is a cultural tourism attraction and a classic red tourism destination.

Located at No. 49 Xuantai Road, Gensi Township, Yang Gensi Martyrs' Cemetery was built in 1951 through voluntary fundraising by the local government to honor and remember the supreme hero Yang Gensi, recipient of the DPRK's "Gold Star Medal" and "First-Class National Flag Medal." Originally called the Yang Gensi Memorial Temple, it underwent multiple renovations and expansions with the approval of the provincial government. On June 15, 1987, it was designated as a Provincial Key Martyrs’ Memorial Building Protection Unit, as well as a Provincial and Municipal Moral Education Base, Patriotic Education Base, and National Defense Education Base.

Covering an area of 39,102 square meters, including 4,100 square meters of building space, Yang Gensi Martyrs' Cemetery was designed by renowned architects Professor Yang Yanzhao and Professor Qi Kang. The structures feature classical large-roof architecture arranged in a stepped, ascending layout. The cemetery gate is exquisitely crafted from artificial stone in the style of Han Dynasty que towers, measuring 11.7 meters wide and 5.4 meters high. The gateposts are engraved with the image of the Gold Star Medal and the date “1950.11.29,” marking the day the martyr sacrificed his life in Korea. Within the grounds, a solemn artificial stone horizontal stele bears six powerful characters inscribed by Chen Yi: “Monument to Martyr Yang Gensi.” On the back is an inscription detailing the martyr’s life and deeds. A massive statue of the martyr vividly recreates the heroic scene of his final moments—left fist clenched, right arm embracing a grenade, charging toward the enemy, leaving a profound impact. The exhibition hall features a plaque personally inscribed by Zhang Aiping reading “Yang Gensi Martyrs’ Memorial Hall,” introducing Yang Gensi’s life journey and showcasing his various personal belongings and precious images through integrated audiovisual displays. The central pavilion houses a stone inscription by Peng Dehuai: “To Yang Gensi, the outstanding son of the Chinese people, the great soldier of internationalism, the exemplary commander of the Volunteer Army—immortalized forever.” At the rear of the cemetery, the impressive hip-and-gable I-shaped memorial hall and the circular mound-style cenotaph are particularly majestic. Surrounded by water on all sides, the cemetery is adorned with tall pines, lush cypresses, flower-filled lawns exuding fragrance, and an elegant, solemn, and dignified atmosphere.

Gensi Township: a township under the jurisdiction of Taixing City. Renamed in 1955 to commemorate the internationalist hero Yang Gensi, it was restructured as Gensi Commune in 1963 and restored as a township in 1983. Located in the northwestern part of the city, it is 9 kilometers from the municipal government. Covering an area of 27.9 square kilometers with a population of 25,000, it governs 24 village committees: Gensi, Lixiuhe, Yuxiu, Wuzhuang, Xiagang, Caodang, Nanhu, Xiaohu, Donghu, Xihu, Beihu, Qianqiang, Fandang, Qianjin, Dajing, Xiaojing, Henan, Nansen, Xubao, Zhangxu, Daxin, Xiaoxin, Fuyang, and Xiaobizhuang.
