On June 22, 2019, the X-Mudder Mud Run Chengdu Station will kick off with excitement in Taixing Town, Xindu District, Chengdu. The event is jointly organized by Beijing Sikelang Sports and Chengdu Biaodian Sports. This also represents the return of the X-Mudder Mud Run to the Land of Abundance following its successful run in Chengdu in 2018.

The X-Mudder Mud Run is China’s first outdoor obstacle course with military elements. As an original IP event, most of its obstacles are based on basic training exercises for special forces. According to the organizing committee, the X-Mudder Mud Run not only tests participants’ running ability, core strength, flexibility, and agility, but also challenges their courage and perseverance. Through careful design and innovation, a wealth of military elements and themes from classic historical battles have been seamlessly integrated into the event, greatly enhancing the participants' sense of immersion and realism.

The Classic Race is a traditional event of the X-Mudder Mud Run, combining endurance and strength while testing individual capabilities and teamwork. The difficulty level of the Classic Race course in Chengdu this year has been increased compared to last year. The course spans 8 kilometers and features 15 obstacles, including an upgraded Horizontal Ladder and the Verdun Meat Grinder, as well as classic obstacles like the Golan Heights and Crossing the Fire Line. Ms. Li, the event director of the X-Mudder Mud Run, explained, “The Classic Race is designed because everyone faces various pressures in daily life—whether from school, work, or family. The Classic Race provides participants with a space to relieve stress and discover more joy in life. By overcoming the obstacles in the race, you can return to a healthier state of living!”

Participants earn corresponding event points for each X-Mudder Mud Run they complete. The points for a single race are calculated as: 100 (base points) * obstacle coefficient * distance coefficient * time coefficient. This point system allows participants from different levels or cities to compare their “ability value” horizontally. It is reported that all participants across X-Mudder levels can earn points through races, with the top 100 male and female finishers at each event earning direct entry to the finals without a lottery draw. They will also share a prize pool of one million yuan, consisting of a base bonus provided by the organizers and a portion of the race registration fees.

According to the organizing committee, the establishment of the X-Mudder Mud Run “Honor System” aims to allow participants to earn and accumulate “merit points,” climb through ranks, and enhance their sense of honor and belonging. This system encourages participants to continually push their limits and grow together with the event. Based on accumulated merit points, the Honor System is divided into four tiers: “Warrior,” “Non-commissioned Officer,” “Lieutenant,” and “Captain.” All registered X-Mudder members can advance their personal rank by earning merit points.

Requirements and corresponding benefits for each rank

Participants can accumulate merit points by actively competing in various events throughout the year and striving for better rankings, or by taking part in X-Mudder Mud Run’s online X-FIT Challenges, the X-Intelligence Bureau, and offline training camps. This allows for growth within the system and earns them corresponding honors and material rewards at each level.

Recently, the Chengdu venue has officially been unveiled, with the race taking place in Taixing Town, Xindu District. In recent years, Taixing Town has accelerated the development of an ecological, livable, and leisure-oriented town with more beautiful surroundings, more integrated industries, and a more harmonious social environment. As the venue for this X-Mudder Mud Run, Taixing Town will showcase its vibrant and culturally distinctive new urban image to the world.

It is reported that registration for the Chengdu event is nearly full, with the deadline set for June 18. Participants can register as a team and enjoy a discounted price of 199 yuan per person.
