The Site of LangjiaoWA is a National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit.

Era: Paleolithic Age, Neolithic Age

The Site of LangjiaoWA is located on the western slope plateau of Dagou, 1 kilometer south of Goujiashan Village, Yuanyang Town, Wushan County, covering an area of 500,000 square meters. The remains mainly date back to the Paleolithic Age, with some from the Neolithic Age.

It was discovered in 1984. The cultural layer of the site is about 1 meter thick and lies 3 meters below the surface. In 1984 and 1987, artifacts such as primitive human skull fossils, neck bone fossils, rib fossils, as well as chipped stone bullets and pointed tools were collected. The human skull fossils were dated to the Late Paleolithic Age and belonged to ancient humans contemporaneous with the Hetao Man, approximately 38,000 years old. They were named "Wushan Man." The exposed sections of the site reveal relics such as white lime surfaces and red burned earth. The surface is scattered with a large number of painted pottery shards and clay red pottery shards, and artifacts such as double-handled red pottery jars and polished stone cups have been unearthed.

In May 2013, it was approved and announced by the State Council as part of the seventh batch of National Key Cultural Relics Protection Units.

Yuanyang Town: Yuanyang Town is located in the western part of Wushan County, 15 kilometers from the county seat, at the confluence of the Wei River and the Bangsha River. It covers a total area of 115.9 square kilometers, has a total population of 28,759, and includes 31,212 mu of arable land. The town governs 17 village committees. With abundant water resources, fertile land, and an elevation ranging between 1,500 and 2,440 meters, the area enjoys ample sunlight and has unique advantages for agricultural development. The Wuzhang Highway, Yuanyang-Long Highway, and the Longhai Railway pass through the town area. The Longhai Railway’s Tianshui-Lanzhou section includes a third-class station within the town, making transportation very convenient. It serves as the commercial hub of western Wushan.
