Kaohsiung unveils its newest tourist attraction — Taiwan’s most distinctive skywalk, the Gangshan Eye Park, set to open as early as October. Located in the hiking trail area of Little Gangshan, the bridge spans 88 meters and stands about 14 stories high, offering sweeping views of Agongdian Reservoir’s shimmering waters, panoramic cityscapes of Gangshan and Yong’an, and the sight of high-speed trains speeding by. It also provides distant vistas of the Zhongliao Mountain range, and on clear days, even the main ridge of the Central Mountain Range — including Nanhu Mountain — and the Taiwan Strait, presenting an expansive, unobstructed view.

The Gangshan Eye offers breathtaking views of Gangshan, Yanchao, and Agongdian Reservoir
With a horizontal span of about 70 meters and an elevation difference of around 17 meters, the Gangshan Eye features an eccentric suspension design that hangs the steel walkway mid-air. Walking across it gives visitors the sensation of strolling through the clouds. The park also includes an I-Center service area, a music garden rest zone, a camouflaged bunker recreation area, and a shuttle service zone. A network of forest trails and barrier-free ramps connects all areas, forming a continuous circular route throughout the park. Currently, 80% of the Gangshan Eye project is complete, and once finished, it is expected to attract visitors from across Taiwan and grow into a nationally renowned tourist destination.
