Shilingxia Site

The Shilingxia Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Gansu Province.

The Shilingxia Site is located in Shiling Village, Chengguan Town, Wushan County, Tianshui City, on the southern side of the Longhai Railway. It is the naming site of the Shilingxia cultural type. The Ganshigou River divides the site into two sections: the eastern part is called Yatou, and the western part is Xiping. The overall shape of the site is fan-like, stretching approximately 500 meters from east to west and about 300 meters from north to south, covering a total area of around 90,000 square meters. Within the distribution area of the site, multiple cultural layers are scattered, about 1.7 meters thick and buried at depths of 1.5 to 2.5 meters. In 1955, the Cultural Relics Work Team of the Gansu Provincial Cultural Bureau conducted a trial excavation at the site, uncovering painted pottery bowls, basins, jars, and stone tools. The decorative patterns on the pottery mainly include spiral motifs, stylized bird patterns, and fish patterns.
