Xihanping Site

The Xihanping Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Gansu Province.

The Xihanping Site is located 1 kilometer southwest of Jijiazhuang in Luomen Town, Wushan County. It is a site where prehistoric and Shang-Zhou period artifacts coexist. Covering an area of approximately 250,000 square meters, the cultural layer is 0.1 to 1 meter thick, with exposed ash pits and lime-plastered dwelling remains. Collected artifacts include red pottery vessels made of clayey and sandy fabrics, decorated with cord marks, appliqué, and basket weaves. Vessel shapes include single and double-handled jars. Also collected are polished stone axes, knives, and sickles, all of which are production tools belonging to the Qijia Culture. In addition, there are Shang-Zhou period gray pottery vessels with cord marks, such as li tripods, dou stem bowls, and slender-necked bottles. The site is well-preserved and holds significant value for the study of ancient history in eastern Gansu.

Luomen Town: Luomen Town in Wushan County is a major commercial hub in southeastern Gansu. Located in the western part of Tianshui City, it is 14 kilometers from the county seat of Wushan. The town features flat terrain, fertile soil, abundant water resources, ample sunlight, and rich local produce. The Longhai Railway and National Highway 316 run through the area, while Provincial Road Luoli crosses from north to south, earning it the nickname "dry port." Five kilometers north of the town lies the Shuiliandong Grottoes, built during the Northern Wei Dynasty, and ten kilometers southeast is Northwest China’s premier hot spring resort. With its superior cultural environment, it is an excellent destination for leisure and tourism.
