Cave clusters

Caves are known as “underground wonders.” The karst formations in Guanling County are well-developed, with caves clustered together, some containing a large number of ancient stone carvings. In 1984, the county science committee and a group of professors and students from Nanjing University conducted field investigations in Guanling County for three consecutive summers, discovering over a hundred new caves. The main caves in the county include: Guanling Cave, Miaoming Cave, Guansuo Cave, Guanyin Cave, Gaoqing Cave, Xiayan Cave, Immortal Cave, and Peach Blossom Cave in Guansuo Town; Pinyin Cave and Sanxing Cave in Shangguan Town; Taohua Cave and Hu Family Cave in Dingyun Township; and Hanyuan Cave and Danxiao Cave in Pulie Township, among others. Many of these caves have been recorded in the *Guizhou Provincial Annals: Famous Sites*. Notably outstanding is Guanling Cave, a massive cave hidden within Guansuo Ridge, with unfathomable height and width, featuring underground rivers and waterfalls.
