Guizhou green tea is a product with a geographical indication.

Guizhou green tea is grown on the Guizhou Plateau, the only region in China characterized by high altitude, low latitude, and scarce sunlight. These unique natural conditions contribute to its exceptional quality. The high elevation results in relatively low air pressure, which is highly conducive to the formation of tea polyphenols and aromatic oils. Meanwhile, most parts of Guizhou are shrouded in clouds and mist throughout the year, which suits the shade-loving nature of tea plants. The soil in Guizhou is mainly acidic, loose in texture, and well-drained. In over 20 counties, the soil is rich in trace elements such as selenium, zinc, and others. As a result, Guizhou green tea boasts rich internal components, a fragrant and robust aroma, a fresh and mellow taste, and a bright liquor color. These qualities are all thanks to Guizhou’s unique geographical environment, soil, and climatic conditions, which together create the distinctive intrinsic properties of Guizhou green tea. More and more people are getting to know and purchase Guizhou green tea.
