The Guanziling Hot Spring Area, which boasts Taiwan’s only mud hot spring, will hold the “2016 Tainan Guanziling Hot Spring Food Festival” starting September 24 for a one-month period. A variety of rich and exciting events will take place during the festival, inviting everyone to come to Guanziling, dress up in Japanese-style yukata, watch shows at night, enjoy local cuisine, and relax in the hot springs!

This year’s event features a diverse and unique program. Whether it’s the first-ever “Festival Parade,” the Yukata Fashion Show Party, or the Hot Spring Holiday Market, all promise to break away from past formats. On the opening day, themed “Guanling Night Celebration,” a parade will be held at the Hot Spring Park (Baoquan Bridge) and Dacheng Hall Square. The area’s hot spring guardian deity — Fudō Myōō (Fire King) — will be transformed into a giant 5-meter-tall lantern. The event will also include yukata street parades, taiko drum performances, and fire dancing, presenting a lively hot spring-themed festival.

In addition, there will be hot spring gourmet cuisine, nighttime light displays, music lectures, and other activities, offering visitors a wonderful multi-sensory experience. As autumn gradually brings cooler weather, attendees can shake off accumulated fatigue and recharge their energy.
