The Tainan-themed lanterns exhibited in the Friendly Cities Lantern Area at the 2019 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Pingtung showcased the faith, iconic attractions, local delicacies, and the only mud hot spring in Taiwan through sculptural displays of lantern light and shadow art, promoting them to the internationally renowned Taiwan Lantern Festival.

The two themed lantern groups "Guanling Spring Gushing" and "Guanling Attractions" have been relocated back to the Guanling Scenic Area and are now displayed in Baoquan Bridge Park and in front of the plaza of Huoshan Biyun Temple respectively, lighting up daily from 6:00 PM onwards.

The "Guanling Spring Gushing Themed Lantern Group" showcases the natural wonder of fire and water coexisting at the same source, the seemingly endless steps of "Hero’s Slope", the "Huoshan Biyun Temple" — one of the Eight Great Scenic Spots of Southern Taiwan — as well as famous local produce ingredients from Guanling, including bucket chicken, mushrooms, Dongshan coffee, green tangerines, and longan.

Meanwhile, the "Guanling Attractions Themed Lantern Group" combines elements of the only mud hot spring in Taiwan, red leaf maple forests, and purple crow butterflies, paired with the adorable Guanling ambassadors “Little Maple” and “Little Spring”, as well as a group of travelers enjoying a hot spring soak in cute and playful poses.

The Guanling Hot Spring area, offering “famous springs + scenic views + delicious food”, not only features century-old special mud baths but also boasts nearby scenic spots such as Hero’s Slope, the Fire and Water Spring, and Huoshan Biyun Temple, along with tasty mountain produce like bucket chicken, mushroom eggs, and fresh wild vegetables. It is beloved by both domestic and international visitors. The surrounding 175 Coffee Highway also allows tourists to enjoy fragrant coffee while taking in the view.
