[Lovers' Stream Rafting Safety Tips]

1. Participants with high blood pressure, heart disease, pregnant women, intoxicated individuals, children under 14, and elderly people are not advised to join the rafting activity.

2. Please do not bring sharp or bladed objects onboard to ensure the safety of passengers and the raft. Avoid using your hands or feet to brace against rocks during the ride to prevent injury.

3. It’s best to bring a set of clean clothes to change into after rafting, along with a pair of plastic sandals or disposable straw shoes to wear on the boat — water shoes or sandals are recommended. Choose simple, quick-drying clothing, but avoid wearing anything too thin or light-colored in case you fall into the water.

4. Do not bring valuables (such as mobile phones, cameras, jewelry, etc.), cash, or leather shoes on the raft. In case of capsizing or accidents, the rafting company and insurance will not cover lost cash or belongings. If you must bring a camera, use a low-cost waterproof model, wrap it in a plastic bag, open it in calm waters, and reseal it in rapids. Be prepared to lose it. Secure eyeglasses with a strap.

5. When passing through rapids, follow staff instructions, remain seated, hold the inner grip straps, tighten your feet, and lean toward the center of the raft. Maintain balance with the raft when navigating fast currents. Sitting in the rear? Lean slightly backward. In tandem rafts, keep balance and stay parallel to the flow. Avoid horseplay or splashing in high-drop or fast-current sections.

6. If your raft gets stuck, don’t stand up abruptly. Stabilize the raft, find solid footing, then stand to avoid being swept away. If you drift into another channel and get lodged or stranded, exit the raft.

[Emergency Response During Rafting]

① What if the raft flips?

If you fall into the water due to a capsize, stay calm, hold your breath, avoid swallowing water, and right the raft. When reboarding, ensure even weight distribution — as one side climbs, the other should brace. Retrieve any lost paddles promptly, or you’ll have to use your hands in calmer waters.

② What if you encounter a rapid?

The most thrilling part of rafting is navigating rapids. Pay attention to arrows and signs along the way to anticipate drop zones. When paddling through calm stretches, enjoy the scenery — but when facing rapids, teamwork and technique are key. Hold the inner handles, lean slightly back if sitting in the rear, and maintain balance in tandem. Avoid playing or splashing in high-risk areas.

③ What if you’re hit by another raft?

Try to angle your raft to face the impact directly (side collisions increase flip risk) and grip the ropes tightly. Post-collision, align parallel to the shore — stay inside the raft to avoid injury. Keep a safe distance from other rafts to prevent pinching. Final reminder: mentally prepare for cold water — repeated drenching gets chilly. Ginger soup is available after the ride, so no need to bring extra warming supplies.
