Lao Le Mountain

Lao Le Mountain is a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.

Lao Le Mountain is located 10 kilometers northwest of Queshan County and consists of nine peaks of varying heights. On the northern cliff of the mountain lies Tiger Cave (named so because when the breeze rustles through the pine forest, the sound of the wind in the trees echoes inside the cave like a tiger’s roar). Further ahead is the steep Eighteen Bends, and at the mountaintop there is a pool of clear spring water—sweet and refreshing—that never dries up even in drought, and is named “Frog Spring” due to its shape. The mountain is also home to the grand temples of Zhenwu, Xuantan, Baitemple, and Xuandu, making it a blessed site for Taoism. A temple fair is held here every spring, attracting tens of thousands of worshippers.

The Lao Le Mountain Scenic Area covers a total area of 68 square kilometers. The area features undulating peaks and dense vegetation, with a forest coverage rate of over 96%. It was designated as a National Forest Park in 1992. In April 2013, the Lao Le Mountain Scenic Area was approved as a “Henan Provincial Tourism Resort,” and in 2014, it was named a National AAAA-level Tourist Attraction and a National Demonstration Site for Leisure Agriculture and Rural Tourism.

By Car:

(1) Take National Highway 107 (heading south toward Queshan) → Xinbi Expressway → Exit at Wagang West, Queshan → Follow signs → Xingdian Bridge → South Gate of the scenic area;

(2) Take National Highway 107 (heading south toward Queshan) → Longshan Road → Shuangyong Avenue (westbound) → Follow signs → Xingdian Bridge → South Gate of the scenic area;
