The Former Site of the Command Post of the Autumn Harvest Uprising in Liudian, Queshan, is located on the campus of Liudian Primary School in Liudian Town, Queshan County. Originally part of the "Wenchang Palace" within the Huoshen Temple, only three old rooms of the "Wenchang Palace" remain today. The architecture features a flush-gable roof with blue bricks and small tiles, in the style of the Ming and Qing dynasties.

In the summer of 1927, Chiang Kai-shek and Wang Jingwei joined forces to brutally suppress Communists. The vigorous First Revolutionary Civil War suffered a tragic failure, and the revolution entered a low ebb. The Peasant-Worker Provisional Government—Queshan County Provisional Public Security Committee, which had been established for just over three months, faced counterattacks from reactionary landlord militias. To preserve revolutionary strength, our Party withdrew from the county town and shifted its struggle to the rural areas of Liudian. Key leaders of the Queshan County Provisional Public Security Committee, including Li Mingqi, Yang Jingyu, Zhang Jiaduo, Zhang Lishan, and Zhang Yaochang, were placed under arrest warrants.

In September 1927, the Henan Provincial Committee of the Party, following the spirit of the August 7th Meeting of the Central Committee of the Party in Wuhan, decided to launch the Autumn Harvest Uprising in southern Henan, with the focus set in Queshan. Li Mingqi successively presided over expanded meetings of the Henan Special Committee Office of the Party in Liudian and the Queshan Special Branch, conveying the spirit of the August 7th Meeting of the Central Committee and the instructions of the Henan Provincial Committee regarding armed uprisings in southern Henan. The new policy of "relying on the working and peasant classes, launching an armed uprising to overthrow the reactionary bourgeois warlord rule and establish a worker-peasant revolutionary government" was implemented. The meeting resolved to carry out the Autumn Harvest Uprising in Liudian, eliminate the reactionary gentry and militia captain Li Guanghua of Liudian Town, and establish a revolutionary militia. The command post of the Autumn Harvest Uprising was set up inside the "Wenchang Palace" of the Huoshen Temple in Liudian Town.

On the early morning of November 1, 1927, Yang Jingyu, Li Mingqi, and others commanded hundreds of local peasant self-defense troops and peasant dare-to-die squads to besiege the Liudian militia command post. After more than two hours of fierce fighting and political offensives, the Liudian militia was completely eliminated, securing victory in the Autumn Harvest Uprising. The victory of the uprising marked the beginning of the land revolution in Henan Province. On that day, the local Party organization in Liudian held a celebration meeting and established the "Queshan County Worker-Peasant Revolutionary Army," with Yang Jingyu as the commander-in-chief. On November 3, the Henan Special Committee of the Party and the Queshan Special Branch organized the Second People's Congress of Queshan County in Liudian, with over 60 delegates representing more than 20 townships and rural administrative units across the county. The congress elected the earliest Soviet government in the country during the Second Revolutionary Civil War and the first in Henan—the "Queshan County Revolutionary Committee." Yang Jingyu was elected chairman of the Queshan County Revolutionary Committee, and 11 people including Li Mingqi, Yang Jingyu, Zhang Jiaduo, Zhang Lishan, Zhang Yaochang, Dong Zixiang, and Wang Guoqing were elected as executive committee members. Later, the "Communist Party Queshan County Committee" was also established, with Li Mingqi serving as the first secretary of the Queshan County Committee of the Party.

The Autumn Harvest Uprising by peasants in Liudian was one of the earliest peasant uprisings led by our Party in Henan during the Second Revolutionary Civil War. It occurred just over a month after Chairman Mao led the Autumn Harvest Uprising by peasants in Hunan, earlier than other armed uprisings nationwide, and established the earliest and first county-level Soviet government in Henan. It also gave rise to the revolutionary idea of "establishing a revolutionary base, encircling the cities from the countryside, and seizing power through armed struggle" relatively early, enriching and verifying Comrade Mao Zedong’s correct theory.
