The Site of the Dushan Anti-Japanese Annihilation Battle is a cultural relic protection unit of Shandong Province.

The Site of the Dushan Anti-Japanese Annihilation Battle is located in Shuipo Subdistrict, Liangshan County, dating back to 1939.

On August 2–3, 1939, the 115th Division of the Eighth Route Army, commanded by Acting Division Commander Chen Guang, Political Commissar Luo Ronghuan, and Brigade Commander Yang Yong, encircled and wiped out an elite unit (around 400 Japanese and puppet troops) of the Japanese 32nd Division led by Major Toshio Nagata in Dushan Village, Shuipo Subdistrict, Liangshan County—also known as the Liangshan Battle (or Dushan Battle). This battle resulted in over 300 enemy casualties, more than 20 captives, the capture of three artillery pieces, over 200 rifles, and more than 50 warhorses. Although victorious, due to being at a disadvantage in equipment, over 100 soldiers and civilians were killed in the battle. This engagement marked a model case where the Eighth Route Army completely annihilated an entire Japanese battalion despite being outgunned, earning recognition from the “Central Bureau of the Eighth Route Army” as a “model annihilation battle.” It stands as another notable anti-Japanese annihilation victory in China’s War of Resistance, following the Pingxingguan Victory.

On June 23, 2015, the Site of the Dushan Anti-Japanese Annihilation Battle was designated as part of the fifth batch of Provincial-Level Cultural Relic Protection Units by the People’s Government of Shandong Province.

Shuipo Subdistrict: Located in the eastern part of the county seat, at the junction of scenic areas and urban-rural zones, Shuipo Subdistrict is home to Liangshan’s new urban district, covering an area of 31.67 square kilometers. It governs 14 village committees and 4 neighborhood committees, with 11,818 households, a population of 39,375, and arable land spanning 22,113 mu. The urban population is 41,000.

Gross Domestic Product reached 2.568 billion yuan, with the primary, secondary, and tertiary industries contributing 1.62 billion yuan, 290 million yuan, and 658 million yuan respectively.
