Liangshan Folk Museum

Liangshan Folk Museum is located south of Shuipo South Road in Liangshan County, adjacent to the Shuibo Liangshan Scenic Area to the east. It is among the first batch of folk museums in Shandong Province. The museum is designed and decorated to reflect the rural customs of the Northern Song Dynasty, as well as the ambiance of taverns, inns, and marketplace culture from the era of Water Margin. The first phase of the project covers a construction area of 9,115 square meters, mainly including 12 functional areas: the introductory hall area, liquor culture exhibition area, wine vessels and utensils display area, famous liquors of Water Margin exhibition area, Northern Song Dynasty inn experience area, Water Margin distillery workshop, and more. Liangshan is recognized as one of China’s four major birthplaces of martial arts, alongside Shaolin, Wudang, and Emei. The culture of martial arts is widespread across both urban and rural areas, and there is even a local saying: “Drink the water of Liangshan, and you’ll find yourself wanting to stretch your arms and move your legs.”
