Wufeng Beach
Wufeng Beach is situated at the confluence of the Qingyi River and the Zhaoyi River. It was formed through millennia of alluvial deposition by the Qingyi River and is located next to Wanzhi Town in the county seat, at the southernmost edge of Liulang Town. Spanning an area of over a thousand acres, the expansive tidal flats feature loose, fertile land supporting thriving crops. About 90% of the beach is shaded by towering metasequoia trees, resulting in excellent vegetation, fresh air, and a high concentration of negative ions in the atmosphere. It is truly the “green lung” and “oxygen bar” of the county town. On the northeastern side of Wufeng Beach, near the Lidu Bridge over the Zhaoyi River, the beach is gently sloped. Particularly at the junction of the beach and the riverbed, there is a large expanse of soft, fine, glistening sand. With the gentle caress of the river water, the distant sea of tall trees and the nearby vast green tidal flats create an ideal natural swimming spot.
Every summer, residents from the county town and surrounding villages flock here. It has become the best place for locals to swim, play, and escape the heat, earning the nickname the “Hawaii of the County.”
Liulang Town: A Pearl of the South, a Water Town in a Dream —— Located southeast of Wuhu City and in the central part of Wuhu County, Liulang Town is surrounded by the Qingyi River, Shuiyang River, and Zhaoyi River. Historically, this area was abundant in water plants and teeming with turtledoves. With the arrival of immigrants who built dikes and reclaimed land, thirteen polders of various sizes were eventually connected, forming today’s Liulang Town.
