Bad weather strikes again — 10-level gales force cancellation of Jibei Fireworks Festival

The Penghu International Marine Fireworks Festival was originally scheduled to take place on Jibei Island on the 17th, but due to an approaching frontal system, it is forecast that winds reaching level 10 will hit the island in the evening. To ensure public safety, the Tourism Department of Penghu County Governmentannounced the cancellation of this fireworks display, leaving many visitors disappointed.

This year’s Penghu International Marine Fireworks Festival was set to be held on Jibei Island on the 17th, but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. With the arrival of a frontal system bringing strong winds, the Tourism Department of Penghu County Government, after assessing whether the fireworks could be safely launched and considering public safety, decided to cancel the event, meaning visitors were unable to enjoy the spectacular display.
