The 2016 Taipei International Travel Fair will be held from May 20 to May 23 at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1. This year, in addition to increased interest in Asian, Japan-Korea itineraries and independent travel, destinations such as Europe are also great opportunities to snag deals. Highlights include Macau independent travel packages for as low as 888 yuan for 3 days, Turkey 9-day trips waiving 30,000, and up to 20% off on all flight routes.

This year, a total of 460 exhibitors will participate, including over 40 major travel agencies, domestic and international airlines, as well as tourism bureaus from various countries stationed in Taiwan. Koala Travel stated that Korean travel has seen a significant boost in popularity this year, thanks to Korean dramas and budget airlines. Meanwhile, the consistently strong Japan route is also expected to see another surge in sales during the fair.

For travelers dreaming of visiting Europe,due to factors such as exchange rates and new airline routes, the overall average price of European itineraries is about 5,000 to 6,000 yuan cheaper compared to last year.Lion Travel spokesperson Yu Kuo-chen revealed that aside from lower prices across European routes,destinations like Turkey and Greece are also offering promotional prices due to external factors. Greek itineraries, which used to cost over 100,000 yuan during summer holidays, now have options under 80,000 yuan, saving travelers 30,000 to 40,000 yuan.
