Dagu Mountain is a national AAA-level tourist attraction.

Dagu Mountain National Scenic Area is located on the right bank of the estuary of the Dayang River in Donggang City, southwest of Dandong City, with Gushan Town encircling its southern foothills. Travelers can drive directly from Dandong City or Donggang City to the foot of the mountain, then hike up along stone paths to explore all its scenic spots.

Dagu Mountain is steep and towering, standing alone by the coast of the Yellow Sea, combining the beauty of both sea and mountain, and is a famous scenic area in Liaodong. Its ridgeline is jagged like a sawtooth, and its main peak rises nearly 340 meters above sea level. Hiking up the mountain path, you’ll find dense forests and giant trees providing ample shade, while wildflowers and grasses blanket the slopes like brocades, creating serene and captivating scenery.

Midway up Dagu Mountain lies a complex of temple structures dedicated to the founders of Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, as well as important deities, Buddhas, and immortals such as Confucius, Sakyamuni, the Jade Emperor, the King of the Underworld, and the Medicine Immortal. This is a classic example of a "Three Teachings in One" architectural ensemble. The entire complex covers an area of 5,000 square meters with 104 rooms. Except for a very few structures originally built in the Tang Dynasty and renovated during the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, the rest were constructed in the mid-to-late Qing period. These buildings are all made of brick and wood, featuring upturned eaves, carved beams, and painted rafters, making them highly ornamental. They rank among the best-preserved ancient temple architectures in Liaodong. The Dagu Mountain temples are built along the mountain’s contours, rising layer by layer in a well-arranged and majestic fashion. The entire temple complex is divided into two main sections: the Lower Temple and the Upper Temple, yet they are interconnected as one. Each section consists of smaller individual temples, each laid out as a courtyard with a main hall and side halls. This layout is a typical arrangement for northern temple complexes. The Lower Temple has wings on both sides. Along the central axis of the left wing, from front to back, are the Front Hall and the Heavenly Queen Mother Hall; along the central axis of the right wing, from front to back, are the Heavenly King Hall, the King of the Underworld Hall, the Sakyamuni Hall, the God of Wealth Hall, and the Guan Yu Hall. In addition to the main halls of the Lower Temple, there are also the Eastern and Western Ten Kings Halls and the Lüzu Pavilion. The Upper Temple has a more scattered layout, with a Buddhist pagoda, the Sea-Viewing Pavilion, and the Jade Emperor Hall from front to back. To the left of the Jade Emperor Hall is the Medicine King Hall, and to its right front are the Dragon King Hall, the Arhat Hall, and the Three Immortal Maidens Hall.

Gushan Town: Gushan Town is located in the western part of Donggang City, bordering Dalian City to the west and Anshan City to the north. It enjoys a superior geographical location and a long history. The town covers an area of 4 square kilometers, governs 2 community neighborhood committees, and has an urban population of 17,630. The town benefits from convenient transportation—the Hegang-Dalian Highway runs east-west through it, and the Dapan Highway runs north-south. Within the town lies the central area of the Yalu River Wetland Reserve and the renowned Dagu Mountain National Forest Park in Liaodong. The scenic area boasts enchanting views and ancient cypresses that tower into the sky. The main peak of Dagu Mountain stands at 337.3 meters high, with a majestic presence.
