Welcoming the Black Marlin Season: Light Show on Pingtung’s Jinde Bridge Illuminates the Donggang Riverbanks

The Pingtung Black Marlin Festival will kick off on May 3. In addition to decorating Donggang Township with cherry blossom lights, love-themed flower beds, and cherry blossom love chairs to create a romantic ambiance, the Jinde Bridge that spans the Donggang River has been adorned with colorful lights every evening from now on, showcasing a dazzling light show.

Thanks to the county government’s revitalization efforts, the Donggang Riverbanks have become a popular leisure spot for locals. With the annual arrival of the Black Marlin Festival, the pedestrian walkways along the Donggang River have already been transformed into the “Heart Bridge Station,” complementing the red-hued Jinde Bridge.

The Pingtung County Government’s Tourism and Communications Bureau stated that during the Black Marlin Festival, the Jinde Bridge light show will be illuminated every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 6:30 PM to 10:00 PM. The light display can be enjoyed from different angles on both the Donggang and Xinyuan ends of the bridge. On weekends, cultural and artistic performances will also be held at Donggang Riverside Park and Huaqiao Market, turning the Donggang River area into an outdoor performance space that combines riverside scenery, music, and light art.
