Following its earlier announcement of launching flights to Komatsu as its 10th Japanese destination on January 18 next year, Tigerair Taiwan has now announced that it will launch its 11th Japanese destination — Asahikawa, Hokkaido — on March 27 next year, making it the airline’s northernmost route in Japan. The route will initially operate twice weekly, allowing passengers to combine it with Tigerair Taiwan’s existing flights to Hakodate to explore all of Hokkaido.

From January 29 to March 9, it’s the annual Yangmingshan Flower Festival. This year’s festival, themed “The Blooming Spring,” showcases stunning floral displays across various themed spots in Yangmingshan Park. Currently, the Showa cherry blossoms near the fountain are in full bloom. Meanwhile, two major highlights of the flower season — the “Explosive Bloom of Yoshino Cherry Blossoms” and the “White Daffodil Field” featuring 8,000 daffodils — are about 50–60% in bloom. They are expected to reach their peak between February 22 and 28.
