20 Firework Shows Over 2 Months! Book Early for Penghu’s Maritime Fireworks Festival

Penghu’s annual highlight, the “Maritime Fireworks Festival,” kicks off in April, allowing the public to enjoy spectacular fireworks over two consecutive months at the “World’s Most Beautiful Bay.” The Penghu County Government Tourism Department announced that this year’s festival will feature 20 events, each including fireworks and exciting stage performances. Among them, three shows will be curated by international fireworks teams. Travelers are advised to start booking flights early to experience the most romantic event on the Orchid Island.

The fireworks festival will run from April 14 to June 19, with fireworks and dance performances held every Monday and Thursday evening. Except for the opening show, which begins at 7:30 PM, all other events start at 8:00 PM, with fireworks displays taking place from 9:00 to 9:15 PM. The county government tourism department noted that Penghu successfully joined the “International Association of the World’s Most Beautiful Bays” in 2013, and the fireworks festival has been hailed as “the most spectacular ever.” This year, the same team is designing and planning the event, promising another memorable experience for audiences.

As usual, April marks the beginning of the peak tourist season in Penghu, especially during the fireworks festival, when flight tickets often sell out within seconds. The tourism department reminds travelers that online flight bookings are only available for dates within 60 days. Those planning to attend the fireworks festival should book their flights well in advance. If no flights are available, taking a ferry is also a good alternative.
