The highly anticipated 2014 Taipei Lantern Festival officially lit up its main lantern, “Soaring Stallion,” on the evening of February 7 at the Yuanshan Flower Expo Park, along with illuminating all the lantern displays, kicking off the grand event running from February 7 to February 16. This year’s Taipei Lantern Festival is divided into 12 themed zones, each with its own unique features, and even the currently popular “Gudai” (Taipei Zoo’s baby panda) has become an adorable theme of the festival.
